So I recently received my package from www.shopbop.com and boy was I excited! I had ordered the Marc Jacobs Too Hot To Handle Hobo Bag and since its has come, I have not stopped using it/loving it/admiring it. I have used it everyday whether its for work or play and can safely say it will be a staple in my wardrobe for a very long time.
Functionality:I love versatility in a bag and that's exactly what the Too Hot To Handle delivers. You can wear it up to 4 different ways
- As a Cross-body bag with the long strap
- On one shoulder with the long strap
- On the elbow with the small strap
- On the shoulder with the small strap
Size wise, this bag is perfect. Its large enough to hold EVERYTHING including, wallet, phone, keys, toiletries pouch, stethoscope, pager, file/folder, scarf, drink bottle etc etc. But at the same time its not so large that it looks like you've packed your entire life up and are travelling to the other side of the world. It also doesn't strain your shoulder/arm, even when full.
Aesthetics:
This bag is beautiful, it works with pretty much any outfit due to its versatility and neutralness (I made that word up). Its got gold hardware which suits my skin tone and most of my clothing/jewelry. However I think on the Marc Jacobs website it comes in Electric blue and black with silver detailing and Green with gold detailing as well.
Quality:
It's made from "genuine Italian calf leather", not the most animal friendly but certainly great quality.
Price:
It cost on shopbop.com USD$438; which on the website automatically converts to your local currency. Do note that the website says it delivers with "free shipping" however be careful because you still have to pay customs depending on your country's international importing policy. This "Import customs tax" is added to your total when you go to check out. It arrived within 7 days of purchase.

I have been looking ar this bag for some time know :-) Hope its okay if i ask you about it. Are you still happy about i? I til closing good? or does it open too easy? How is the leather and logo after using it for some time?

Hi Anne, Yes I definitely am still very happy with the bag. It has been so useful over the summer and now transitioning into Autumn it will continue to be a staple! The leather so far has remained the same as when I first got it and the logo is also much the same. There hasn't been any noticeable wear or tear on the bag.

I just received this bag and was dismayed to find it much more boxy and less slouchy than the pictures on bloomies (and for that matter your pictures) seem. Did yours soften up and slouch better over time? Is there a trick to this bag? For some reason I'm disappointed in how it looks but want to love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Becky, dont worry it will definitely become more slouchy with time. The key is to keep using it. Marc jacob's bags use real leather however, so each bag will be individual in its texture base. You could try rolling it up when you store it to try and increase the rate of softening. Hope that helps
